Cancer in the Time of COVID

“You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do”

– Eleanor Roosevelt

Welcome to my journey through cancer.

My name is Molly Patten and I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the age of 38 on 7/1/2020 right in the middle of the worst year in history. I wanted to create a platform where I could document everything that’s happening to me as well as share information and affirmation for other people in their cancer journey.

What is Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma?

Cancer starts when cells begin to grow out of control. Cells in nearly any part of the body can become cancer, and can spread to other areas.

Nurses are the Real Heroes

Especially in this pandemic time, nurses have become the surrogate families for patients who aren’t allowed to have visitors. They’re the ones to offer hugs and support and be there when the scary news is given.

“She was powerful not because she wasn’t scared but because she went on so strongly, despite the fear.”
